taking a lover - old fashioned girl
Her name was Constantine, she was born in 1927 in Buenos Aires. From her posture and chic black clothes, you could just imagine how beautiful she had once been. Her red hair, her green eyes and of course her slim figure…..spoke silent volumes of experience. And although she was old, and I was only 20, I felt envious of her, as she told me of her life of passion, dance and drama. She had seen the world, eaten it whole and her adventure had not yet ended. Smoke filled the space around us, as musicians started jamming softly to a backdrop of bohemians and aspiring beatniks all talking in mysterious tongues. And I asked her what she did when life was not so kind, when there was no happiness in her heart, or she felt despair? And she answered me in her rich deep voice: ‘Why darling take a LOVER of course…..it does wonders for your mood’
* moral of the story if you want to look fabulous when your older, live life like it’s 1940's Paris, Rome, or Argentina you take your pick! Oh and take a lover of course..... |
