Today the very suitable ‘Coffee Bean’ on Ibn Givrol / Gan Hayear. So you ask how could the above be any worse…..and I shall tell you. A few years ago I purchased some funky t-shirts from a blossoming designer. Ironic slogans that intrigue and surprise. Hehe I was wearing such a t-shirt on the dreaded day I stepped into the CB. It boldly stated ‘You only die once’ in Yiddish. But to the clientele at CB apparently you take a long time getting there. Immediately on entering I was accosted by many types of old people. I was taken into the fold, made to sit with a man (who may have already died but forgot to tell his body). He had in his lifetime ( all 140 years of it), known King Farooq and been quite the ladies man, he spoke 5 languages all quite badly, and although he has a lady friend at the mo, he offered to set me up anywhere I want. Services rendered I am gathering…yuk. Plump little polish women followed me to the toilet to ask me whether Yiddish will make a comeback……and will their flamboyant grandson ever date women. It was awful. Emi took full advantage of the situation and worked the room….. Meanwhile there was the distinct smell of death all around me (which may have been my lunch)….. Barely got out of there with my clothes on. |
