I try in Israel not to mention my age, I look 29 and everyone seems to be happy with that assumption, so why rock the boat. Why have people I don't know judge me, with I am sorry, but I can only say their old fashioned mentality. For a country with one of the highest divorce rates in the world you sure do put the pressure on to get married. What's the urgency? Surely you can get married and divorced anytime….lol My closest friends are at least 10 years younger then me, one is 21 and anther is 54. In the UK I have an ex who's with a woman 17 years older then him for 11 years now. Non of my friends there are married but their relationships have lasted well beyond the marriages of my friends here. I go out with those who I am attracted to, I am friends with people that I find interesting and I have a connection with, I don't believe that a set of numbers can stand in the way of love or true friendship.
I think Israel should join the modern world instead of cling onto an outdated one. Maybe while you're at it, shops could open on Saturday and we could relax the whole living in a religious country thing? Yes, Yom Kippur included, I am not religous why do I have to pretend to be?
How did the Jews become so conservative?
Snap out of it, even the Turks are more modern then us…… |
