There are times when you are exposed, unintentionally, to what can be called a ‘half-confession’ in semi public locations (e.g. theatres, cinemas, coffee shops, buses, etc.). There are times, the person announces their information loudly, to seek attention; on other occasions – the person is not aware of the fact that s/he has an audience. There are times you cannot see the speaker's face – it makes the situation more mysterious or even more funny. Can you imagine it? How do you respond? How does it make you feel? Artists from varied backgrounds and disciplines took this notion and investigated the concept, developing and evolving the challenge. Some of the artists are from the UK and Ireland; from Cyprus and Israel. You can find photographers; painters; performer and conceptual artists among the exhibitors. Does this background have any influence on the confession? Do you put your own ideas and feelings into the work and share something personal? Do you make a confession? Some of the confessions art intimate; other explore personal aspects of the artists. The exhibition is going to run at Lev Cinema, Dizengoff Centre, Tel Aviv. The work will be displayed in the toilets- a place where many stories are shared and confessions are made- and overheard.
