"Peace activists" promoting their cause by metal pipes, knives and guns - yet another Middle East contribution to the civilized world. The most important thing is not the kind of weapon they were armed with but the intent!!! Their initial intent was provocation of violence and the beating with lead pipes that is shown in the videos = intent to kill!!! I'm writing as a person who stands for the two state solution, I have no problem with the 67 borders, handling the holy places in Jerusalem over to international control and even evicting people from Ariel (not to talk about the small settlements) – if that will bring the peace we all hope for. But all that has to be done from the position of power, if not there will never be peace. Arab countries around us would have never thought to sign peace treaties with Israel if not the convincing victories in the war we fought. Pictures of our elite soldiers severely beaten holding "paintball" guns should cost the IDF NAVY Commander and the Commander in Chief their jobs. The planning of this operation was outrageous; the planners had to take into consideration the possibility of what eventually happened and prepare accordingly. Another thing - Turkey. If we will continue acting as a "beaten wife" eventually it will blow in our face (it already did). Israel has to stop looking at our relationship in the context of the Israeli Military industries. Taking lectures from leader of a country that systematically killed more than a million Armenians, is occupying half of Cyprus, launching military attacks against Kurds etc. is ridiculous. Where is our self respect, on the other side, Jews were never too good in balancing that with money. Finally I wish all the wounded a quick recovery, and that someone up there will wake up, stop defending and launch a propaganda offensive (I have no problem joining if I'll get some time of the ICCU :-)... |
