זה כמה זמן שהדברים נמצאים אצלי ואני רוצה להגידם. לפני כמה שבועות קבלתי מייל מעציב על הליכתה לעולמה של מורתי לטאי צ'י, מאסטר מרי צ'או. בגי 92 בשנחאי שמשפחתה סביב מיטתה, בשלווה, עזבה... היו לי הרבה מורים בחיים. חלקם משפיעים יותר או פחות. מרי הייתה מאסטר שנגעה בלבי ובלב כל תלמידיה. בתחילת שנות ה- 80 שהייתה סיום של תקופת ה"היפיס" של שנות השבעים מתקבצת חבורה של אנשים, חלקם מגיעים לשיעורי הטאי צ'י בחליפות של שלושה חלקים, יחד עם "ילדי הפרחים" המתבגרים ואני בניהם. טאי צ'י נתפס אצלי כמשהו אקזוטי מחכמות המזרח הרחוק(שנראה אז יותר רחוק מהיום) . מרי גשרה בין האקזוטיות, לחיי בלוס אנג'לס, במאור פנים. כשהייתה אומרת משהו לקבוצה וידעתי שהיא מדברת אלי. הייתי מפנה מבטי אליה ופוגש את עיניה הצוחקות. יום אחד אמרה לי עכשיו לך ותלמד. עד היום אני מקיים דבריה באהבה וחב לה את חיי המקצועיים. לכבודה אכתוב את הדברים הבאים. נכתב במקורותינו- "כל ימי סבבתי בין חכמים ולא מצאתי לגוף טוב משתיקה". (פרקי אבות) לכאורה משפט תמוה שכן מה לגוף ולשתיקה? השתיקה היא בפה. שתיקה אינה, אי דיבור. השתיקה היא חומר היוצר ביטוי בתנועות הטאי צ'י היא נמצאת, בשיבה התמידית אל המרכז מכל תנועה היוצאת מהמרכז. בטיפולי המגע, בהנחת הידיים תון מתן מקום המאפשר לנפש לקבל התחוללותו של תהליך רפוי. היא המקום של התובנה והיא המקום בסוף היצירה המוסיקאלית כשהפסנתרן מרים ידיו מעל הפסנתר, מאפשר למוסיקה להמשיך. לשאר הנפש זה קראה מרי mind in motion מדיטציה בתנועה. ברשותכם אצרף את מכתב ההודעה על מותה מתלמידה הבחיר טים אוקנור http://taichiworx.com/
Dear Friends and Students,
It is with profound sadness that I inform you of Master Mary Chow's passing on June 14, 2010 in Shanghai at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends.
Whether you are a friend or a direct or second generation student of Master Mary's you know what an important and influential figure she has been in the lives of all she has touched. Those of us fortunate to have passed through the glow of her orbit are blessed for life. The love, compassion and wisdom which she bestowed on us are gifts to great to repay. So let us honor her spirit by continuing to tend her "garden" so the benefits of its bounty shall be maintained and passed on to future generations.
Although Master Mary has now transcended this mortal coil rest assured, like the exquisite super nova whose bright light shines in the evening firmament long after its passing, so will her teaching and example guide us all through the end of time.
I will be organizing with Master Mary's family a memorial in celebration of her life to be held here in Los Angeles at a date yet to be determined. Please let me if you would like to be notified when plans have been set.
