is to meet someone who actually talks to me. Unlike with English men, and dare I say it (and for different reasons) French men, Israeli men touch first talk later. How frustrating. Most of my most serious relationships were with men who were my friends first and only later we hooked up. And why not? Surely what we all really really want is to have someone who's company we enjoy, after all when all is said and done you don't want to be bored, right? So how come every time I go on a date with an Israeli man, he's only interested in one thing (and it ain't my witty conversation)? Whereas English men will talk to you, get to know you, romance you gently over time, Israeli men quickly dismiss with such formalities and say 'hey we can talk later'. Well I have news for you, WE CAN'T. I am one of those who believe in knowing someone before I am physical with them and not the other way round. And so, the many years I have spent in this lovely country, have indeed more or less been spent with my own kind (Brits or other foreigners) or with the occasional sensitive Israeli (of which I have met a few). Maybe it's something I am projecting, or just my lack of understanding of your culture? In fact I am not even saying there's anything wrong with pawing every attractive person you see, I am just saying can I not be one of them. I am intelligent, funny and cynical not just a doll (to play with) and I want to meet like minded people and hear their stories and share mine, because anything else for me, is just fumbling in the dark.
