In a land far far away, in the not so distant future, there was a city gripped by frozen darkness. And its name was Isar. Unlike its neighboring cities, Isar enjoyed no life, no light and no warmth. No man, woman or child could survive there and so they all moved away, leaving only one - Animator-man, a person so cold, so heartless that even the darkness of Isar couldn’t scare him. Instead he stayed locked up in his tower (near Nehmani) and created fictional characters to keep him company there. On hearing of this place, too horrific to describe, Artgirl decided to try and save Isar and Animator-man from themselves, with her unique power of bringing color to all she touched. She grabbed a torch and a pot of purple paint (that looked like velvet) and ventured out to try and melt the cold heart of Animator-man. She climbed the stairs to the top of his tower, and knocked. It took awhile and then he opened. But he was not what she had imagined; he was friendly and warm and nice. How could he bear to live in Isar, did he not miss the sun, the other people, warmth? They ate a dinner tastier then any other she had ever eaten. And then he began to talk….and as he explained that he didn’t like people, that he never wanted to hear the sound of children laughing and that he liked the darkness, suddenly she saw his face turn to ice, and a chill cross the room. She tried to escape for surely she was in great danger….. But as he spoke he become more and more powerful, and she was helpless to resist, her purple paint dropped from her hands and spilt on the now icy floor of the tower. She tried to plead with him, she tried to show him that love could bring him out of his evil ways, but although he wanted to, he knew that in a world full of love and light, he would not survive. That only in utter darkness could he create his characters and therefore be Animator-man! Artgirl needed to go and get help. If she could not save Animator-man, at least she should try and rescue Isar. She left…… Once home, she gathered all her energies and started to paint. First pink, then yellow, red, blue and so forth, each color stronger then the one before. She then called on Desert-star to bring with her the light (and she did in the form of many songs and excellent clips), and Bubble-boy to cover everything in bubbles (because even in darkness bubbles shine)……and within 48 hours Isar was freed of its dark curse. Yes, Desert-star’s light, Bubble-boy’s innocence and Artgirl’s colors saved the day! Isar would never be dark again. And what became of Animator-man? He still lives in the tower, all alone, but now his shutters are closed (to keep out the light) and his air conditioning is always on! |
