The Prince's Rainforests Project would like to invite you to attend a very special online launch event this evening!

Thank you for adding your name to support The Prince's Rainforests Project when you submitted your photograph to enter the Sony World Photography Awards. The Project aims to find solutions to rainforest destruction because of the impact this has on climate change. The alarming scale of the rapid burning of rainforests around the world means that the annual level of CO2 emissions created by tropical deforestation is actually greater than that produced by the entire global transport network.

These rainforests play a vital role in all our lives every day. They are the world's natural air-conditioning and thermostat systems and act as a cooling belt around the centre of our planet. And they generate much of the oxygen we breathe and the rainfall that is essential around the world for watering the crops to feed our growing population.

At 6pm (BST) / 1pm (EST) today, Tuesday 5th May, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales will officially launch our global awareness campaign by delivering a webcast to the online social network communities followed by the premiere of our campaign video featuring some well-known faces such as Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. And we'd like you to be there to continue your call for urgent action against the damaging effects of tropical deforestation.
