האלבומים שלה תמיד הגיעו לראש המצעדים במצעד האלבומים הלטיני.
היא נרצחה ב-31 למרץ 1995 בידיי נשיאת מועדון המעריצים שלה בחדר המלון שלה, לאחר שחקרה אותה על העלמה של כספי מועדון מעריצים.

סלינה זכתה בסרט שמנציח את עלייתה וקטיפתה,
כשבתפקיד הראשי כיכבה ג'ניפר לופז, סמל הסקס הלטיני ..
